Internet and newspapers: how to end the crisis?

research published today Internet and newspapers: how to end the crisis? I wrote on behalf of the European Journalism, the center studies the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Italian Switzerland.

The survey looks at what happened in 2008, the effects of the economic crisis on the health of newspapers and the relationship of the latter with the contradictions raised by the online information market. In particular, it tends to identify the costs associated to the press and web development by checking which assumptions are possible according to the fundamental economics of one or the other model of production.

What are the trends that we are making? There are alternatives to hybrid models, online-offline, undertaken by the newspapers were born into the world of paper? As the structures can be rearranged to make more efficient editorial sustainability information on the web? What might be the route to ensure production of quality information that meets a universe of ever-changing readers? Topical issues on which all stakeholders are cercando di trovare una risposta.
